Jaune de Chardonne

3.99

I received this generous seed donation from Sylvia Davatz, a long time seed saver from Vermont, who also offered seeds through Solstice Seeds.

I am very lucky to have met her at the NOFA NY conference in 2017, which was also the very first seed conference in the Northeast. This variety produced very well for us in coastal NY, zone 7.

Her description is as follows:

A Swiss landrace, not commercially grown, collected originally from a farmers’ market in Vevey. Lemon yellow and the size and shape of a plum, these juicy, sweet beauties are borne abundantly on heavy vines. In the early stages of ripeness Jaune can be used for drying.
